This week in math we are focusing on telling time. We have been working really hard to make sure we are paying attention to which hand is the hour hand and which is the minute hand on the face of analog clocks. Students created a clock on construction paper labeling each in class last week, which they will be bringing home to help them on their homework (they don't need to bring them back to school, they are to help with homework). We will also be working on frame-and-arrow routines with two rules towards the end of the week. This will be an extension to our frame-and-arrow routines we worked on a few weeks ago. Don't forget to download family letter 3 from the math tab if you haven't already!
In science we are continuing our inquiry circles about rare, exotic and bizarre plants! Students will be using the iPads to continue their research as well as articles and books from our classroom. Beginning next week we will start to assemble our final presentations about our learning, so towards the end of the week students will begin planning what that will look like.
Just a reminder about conferences, please see the Sign-Up Genius if you haven't signed up for one yet.
Let me know if you have any questions, and as always-have a great week!
